Man Admits Threatening Wife's Life, Stockpiling Weapons At East Rockaway Home

A Long Island man, who reportedly threatened to kill his wife outside of a hospital, also hoarded several ghost guns, ammunition, and more at his home, authorities said.

East Rockaway resident Thomas Saxton, age 36, pleaded guilty to stockpiling multiple weapons, including ghost guns, the Nassau County DA announced.

Thomas Saxton, age 36 of East Rockaway, entered his guilty plea on Wednesday, Jan. 10, according to the Nassau County District Attorney.

Nearly two years earlier, on Feb. 17, 2022, Saxton allegedly threatened to kill his wife while she was holding their 2-year-old child in her arms outside of a Cohen Children’s Hospital in Queens. He was holding a handgun at the time and was arrested by the NYPD.

As part of the investigation into Saxton’s threats, officials searched his East Rockaway home, where they found hordes of weapons, recovering the following:

Seven ghost gun handguns;
Two assault rifles, one of which was a ghost gun;
More than 60 high-capacity magazines;
Ammunition; and
Ghost gun parts.

He was charged with 31 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Saxton is due back in court for sentencing on Thursday, Jan. 18, where he’s expected to receive seven years behind bars.

In October 2023, he pleaded guilty in a Queens court to one count of the same charge. He is due back to that court on Friday, Jan. 12.
